ZOMIG (ZOLMITRIPTAN) Zomig Information Belonging to the anti migraine agent category, Zomig is the brand name of Zolmitriptan. The drug is especially helpful in migraine and other vascular headache. One of the most effective and trusted name amongst anti migraine drugs, Zomig functions by causing vasoconstriction or narrowing down of blood vessels around the brain. Zolmitriptan is also known to lessen the flow of those substances in the body that gives rise to excruciating pain, nausea, sensitivity to light and sound, and all other migraine symptoms. Zomig Side Effects Though a tested and trusted name, Zomig has certain side effects apart from its beneficial effects. The most common side effects of Zomig are excruciating chest pain, heaviness, tightness, or pressure in chest and/or neck, burning sensation, warmth, heat, numbness, tightness, or tingling followed by dizziness, nausea, sleepiness, fatigue etc. Zomig can also give rise to side effects like breathing trouble, closing of the throat, swelling of the lips, tongue, or face, irregular heartbeat, sudden stomach pain, altered vision etc. Amongst the rare side effects of Zomig, so far, a gitation, anxiety, depression, discomfort in jaw, mouth, or throat, dry mouth, fainting, itching of the skin, urination difficulty & increased frequency, profuse sweating, swelling of face, fingers, feet and/or lower legs have been reported.
